These stats cover setting up teammates, defending, and taking care of the ball. Most of them are "per game" averages on player and team pages.
Playmaking
APG, Assists Per Game, passes that directly lead to a made basket, per game. Higher is better.
A/TO, Assist-to-Turnover Ratio, assists divided by turnovers. It shows how well a player creates offense without giving the ball away. Higher is better.
Defense
SPG, Steals Per Game, steals per game. Higher is better.
BPG, Blocks Per Game, blocked shots per game. Higher is better.
Ball security
TOV, Turnovers Per Game, how often the ball is lost per game. Lower is better: unlike most stats, a smaller number is the good one here.
