Recording setup options: one phone, two phones, or a fixed camera

One phone, two phones or a fixed camera, and the trade-offs.

📍 Where to find it: planning your season. Pick a setup before your first game

You can record on anything from a phone in your pocket to a wall-mounted AI camera. These are the three setups that work, in rough order of effort.

Single phone

One phone on a tripod with someone panning to follow the action. Cheapest, and perfectly workable. Needs a person for the whole game.

Two phones

One phone per half-court. Best option when no operator is available: nothing needs to be moved once the phones are set. Also tends to produce better highlights and more accurate stats, because the action is always in frame.

Fixed or wall-mounted camera

A camera mounted in the facility. Works very well, needs nobody on the day, and we support a wide range of models. See What cameras and devices can I use.

Whichever you pick

  • Record at 1080p, 30fps minimum.

  • Get as close to centre court as you can, and as high as you can.

  • Start recording before tipoff.
