How does investing with Spriggy work?

What is investing with Spriggy?

Investing with Spriggy is available through the Spriggy app. It allows an adult to open and operate an investment account on behalf of a child under 18.

What does money invested through Spriggy go into?

Money invested through Spriggy is placed into the Spriggy Growth Portfolio.

The Spriggy Growth Portfolio is a managed portfolio made up of exchange traded funds (ETFs). The ETFs and their target allocations are selected and managed by the Betashares Investment Committee.

The ETFs provide exposure to different investments, including Australian and global shares. The investments included in the portfolio and their allocations may change over time.

What is Betashares?

Betashares Capital Ltd is the responsible entity of the Betashares Invest Fund, which investing with Spriggy forms part of. Betashares operates the scheme, manages the Spriggy Growth Portfolio and carries out investment instructions submitted through the Spriggy app.

What is Spriggy’s role?

Spriggy provides access to investing through the Spriggy app.

Spriggy has been appointed as an authorised representative of Betashares for the financial services it provides in relation to investing through Spriggy.

Can I choose the individual ETFs?

No. Investing with Spriggy provides access to the Spriggy Growth Portfolio. Betashares selects the ETFs in this managed portfolio and determines their target allocations.

What is fractional investing?

Fractional investing allows your account to hold an interest in part of a whole ETF unit. This means investments do not need to be made only in whole ETF units.

Fractional interests are allocated to your account for investing with Spriggy, while the whole units are held by the scheme’s custodian.
