How does Spriggy charge expired cards and automatically update card details?
Updated over a week ago

If your debit card expires or is replaced, you may still be able to use your saved payment method as your Connected Account. This means your Connected Account might still process annual Spriggy membership fees and Top Ups even when:

  • Your card expires
The payment may be successful if the associated account is still active and your account information hasn’t changed. This is because the card issuer (most likely your bank), as part of their relationship and agreement with you, can allow auto-renew charges on expired cards. Payments won’t be processed if your expired card’s account has been closed.

  • You are issued a replacement card for the same account
The card issuer, as part of their relationship and agreement with you, may automatically update your payment card information through its card network. This information gets passed on to merchants you have an ongoing relationship with, like Spriggy, via payment processors.

This allows your subscriptions and memberships to remain active, without you needing to update your card information. If you have further questions about your card information, please contact your card issuer.
