Several activities can have brackets, such as basketball, volleyball, and baseball. You build a bracket from the activity's season page, and a setup bar at the top of the bracket walks you through each step in order.
Create a Bracket
Click the trophy icon in the left menu and open the activity.
Click Brackets.
Click Manage Brackets -> Add Bracket.
Enter a Name that tells the public which event the bracket is for.
Choose the Team Level, Category (State, State Qualifier, or Regular Season), Competitor (Team, Athlete, or Athlete Doubles), Competitor Name Display, and Format (Tournament, Pool Play, or Pool Play with Tournament).
Check Set Date, Time and Location on Series creation and Show Seeds on Public Bracket if you want them.
Click Save.
Follow the Setup Steps
After you save, the bracket opens with a setup bar that shows the current step (for example, Step 1 of 8) and what to do next.
Click Show steps to see every step, its status, and a link to the tab where it's done.
1. Structure: the bracket's rounds and series, built in the Editor.
2. Games: the games generated from the series.
3. Ticketing: how the games sell, or that they don't.
4. Group Sets: the group sets the bracket belongs to.
5. Teams: the seeded teams.
6. Release to schools: the teams playing see their games.
7. Release to the public: the public bracket page goes live.
8. On sale: the games are selling.
Build the Structure
Click Open Editor (or the Editor tab), then click Add Series (the plus button).
Choose the series Identifier and a Caption for the round. Check Championship or If Necessary if they apply, and set the Date, Time, and Location (TBD, Set, or Higher Seed).
For each Team, choose a Source (Bracket Seed, Bracket Remaining Seed, Winner, Loser, or Bye), then the seed or series it comes from.
Click Save.
Add every series the bracket needs. New series land in the top-left corner of the grid, so drag each one into place.
If 1. Structure shows a warning (for example, two series sitting on top of each other), fix it before you move on.
To draw lines between series, use Add Joint in the Editor.
Generate Games
Games generate in the background, and the page updates when they're done. Each game shows as hidden until you release the bracket.
Set Up Ticketing
Click the Ticketing tab, then click Add ticketing group.
If the bracket won't sell tickets, click This bracket doesn't sell tickets instead. Every game goes in one group that sells nothing.
Enter a Name for the group and choose How these games sell: A box office for each of these games, One box office for all of these games, An existing box office, An outside ticket link, or No ticketing.
Turn on Host schools set their own ticketing only if each host school should set up and sell its own game.
Leave Sell tickets before the teams are known on, or turn it off so each game goes on sale once both of its teams are known.
Click Next.
Choose which games the group covers (All games, A round, The championship, or Only games I pick), choose the Ticket Setup, and click Save. The steps you see depend on how the games sell.
If any games are listed under Not in a group, click each game's menu button and choose the group under Move to.
Choose Group Sets
Click the Group Sets tab and choose the group for each group set, or turn on This bracket doesn't use group sets.
Click Save.
Seed Teams
Click the Teams tab and choose Search Members Only or Search All Teams.
Choose this before you add teams. Switching reloads the page and clears teams you haven't saved.
In each numbered seed row, search for a team and click it.
Click Save Teams.
Saving puts each team into its seeded slot in the bracket and its games. A message shows how many slots were filled. Slots that come from earlier games fill once those games are played.
Release the Bracket
Click the Release tab, then click Release to schools or Release to the public.
Release to schools shows the teams playing their games on their schedules.
Release to the public makes the bracket's public page live with a QR code to share. Releasing to the public also releases to schools and teams.
Tip: Click Preview public page to see the public page before you release it. The preview link works for two weeks for anyone you send it to.
Copy a Bracket
Copying only works into an empty bracket.
Create a new bracket, open its Editor, and click Copy Bracket.
Use the menus at the top to find the bracket you want to copy.
Check Keep Venues and Keep Dates if you want them, check the bracket to copy, and click Copy.
Add Notes
Notes add a text box, with an optional link, to the bracket.
