Setting up Customer Coupon Codes

Setting up coupon codes for customers to use when booking on your Storefront.

Updated over a week ago

It's easy to set up bespoke coupon codes that customers can use during the booking process to receive discounts (eg, Half price for April).

How to create a Coupon Code

To create one simply select the 'Discount' tab which is located under 'Sites' on the left-hand panel.

Select 'Create a Discount'.

In the first field titled 'What kind of discount' select 'customer coupon code'. Further info on how to add a 'Storefront Promotion' can be found here.

In the second field titled 'Create this discount', you will be asked for further details including Name, Customer-facing code, Type, Duration type and Expiration.

Name

This is the name you want to give to the discount and will appear on customer's receipts and invoices (eg. April Half Price)

Customer-facing code

This is the code that customers will use to redeem at checkout. This code is case insensitive and must be unique and all one word (eg. HALFPRICEAPRIL).

Type

Here you can stipulate whether the discount is a percentage discount (eg. 20%) or is a fixed amount (eg. £20).

Duration Type

Here you can select whether the discount applies to one invoice, all invoices, or all invoices that fall in a set multiple of months. Multiple months' Discounts may not work as expected for different Billing Periods. Learn why.

Expiration

This refers to how long you wish the discount to be valid for your customers.

If for example, you wish to offer half-price off for a 4 week period, you can stipulate the exact date 4 weeks in the future when the code will no longer be valid for your customers.

Alternatively, there is an option for the discount to continue indefinitely by selecting 'Never Expire'.

When you are finished, select 'Create Discount'.

This will add the discount to your 'Discounts' page and the code can then be used by customers during the booking process.

You can create as many Customer coupon codes as you wish. They can be particularly useful if you want to create a unique coupon code specific to an individual customer.

Further help on how to use these Coupons to apply specific discounts to subscriptions can be found here.
