Note from our marketing team

We can’t offer individual advice; the below links are intended as pointers in the right direction. Some of the content below will be incredibly rich. Other content – such as Instagram – tends to be fluffier. But the right marketing strategy for you will depend on your business.

Factors which might influence what marketing strategy you choose should include the following:

  • Are people problem solving (“I’m looking for…”) or are people gripped by impulse (“I’ve just seen…”) when they discover your business?

  • How valuable is each customer?

  • Are you going to focus more on new customers, or driving spend from existing customers?

  • Where do your customers spend their time online?

Best of luck!

What to do about marketing resource

DIY marketing | If you plan on marketing your business yourself and you work full time to manage the business, it’s unrealistic to think you can do everything below. We’d suggest splitting what’s below into must do, can do, and nice-to-have.

Freelancer marketer | Fiverr and Upwork are the two well known websites for finding freelancers in the UK. You can also find a freelancer by asking peers who are likely to have somebody they use already. Ping your freelance marketer this list, ask which sections they think are interesting for your business and where their expertise is.

Full-time marketer | £35,000 per year plus | Good full-time marketing professionals are expensive, but can certainly be worth the money. Think about how much marketing your business needs and the amount that you expect to make from more effective marketing. Hopefully they will find this resource useful but we’d also be interested in any suggestions they can add!
