How to integrate Goodlord with Street

Goodlord Integration

Goodlord is an award-winning lettings platform that works alongside Street to manage the entire tenancy process. The integration creates a two-way sync between both systems allowing you to import tenant, landlord, and property data directly from Street into Goodlord, eliminating double entry and keeping information consistent across both platforms.

Note - The Goodlord integration is included free of charge with your Street account. However, Goodlord do charge for use of their platform β€” speak to Goodlord directly to understand their pricing. You can contact the Goodlord Account Management team on: accountmanagement@goodlord.co

Below is a video outlining how the integration works and Goodlord also have their own Integration help article here.

How the integration works

The Street - Goodlord integration works in four stages.

  • Stage 1 - Tenancy Details - Complete the tenancy details from the lettings application

  • Stage 2 - Tenancy Import - Import the property, landlord and tenancy details into Goodlord

  • Stage 3 - Referencing - Complete the usual referencing in Goodlord and execute the tenancy

  • Stage 4 - Documents import - The relevant documents are imported into Street

Stage 1 - Tenancy Details (in Street)

The first stage is to complete the tenancy agreement section on the Tenancy Details task in the lettings application in Street. This is the information that is imported into Goodlord so it's important all of those details are correct before proceeding to stage 2. Any missing data will need to be entered manually in Goodlord.

Note - The integration requires a lettings application in Street. If a tenancy has been created directly from the property page (without an application), data will not transfer to Goodlord automatically and documents will not be exported back to Street when the tenancy is executed in Goodlord.

Stage 2 - Tenancy Import (Street to Goodlord)

The next stage is to import the tenancy information from Street into Goodlord. There are four main ways Street and Goodlord connect:

  • Importing landlords and properties from Street into Goodlord

  • Importing tenancies from Street into Goodlord

  • Importing tenants from Street into Goodlord

  • Linking properties that already exist in Goodlord with the corresponding property in Street

For more information on this stage, see Goodlord's integration help article.

It's important to understand that all of the above is done from within Goodlord - not from Street.

Street simply acts as the source of data. The integration pulls through whatever information is already stored against the property, landlord, tenancy, and tenants in Street, so it's important that your Street records are complete and up to date before importing.

Stage 3 - Referencing and Execution (in Goodlord)

Next you can begin the referencing process as normal within Goodlord and wait to receive the results. When you are ready to proceed with the application, you will need to "execute" the tenancy in Goodlord.

Stage 4 - Document Import (in Street)

The final stage happens automatically when the tenancy is executed in Goodlord. When executed, the following documents are automatically exported back to Street:

  • Tenancy Guide

  • Landlord Offer Letter

  • Tenancy Agreement

  • Guarantor Agreements

  • Tenant and Guarantor reference form PDFs

  • Tenant and Guarantor reference reports

  • Tenant and Guarantor ID documents

When imported, these documents will store on the Referencing task within a Lettings Application.

The following documents are not currently exported:

  • Combined income report

  • Terms of business

  • Property documents

  • Non-ID referencing documents

  • Inventories

Limitations

it is not currently possible to import a renewal tenancy from Street into Goodlord. If a renewal has been created in Street, it will need to be handled manually in Goodlord.

See Goodlord's own articles for guidance: Creating a new tenancy on Goodlord and

How to set up the integration

The integration is connected using an API token generated in Street, which you share with Goodlord for them to complete the setup on their side.

Head to Settings (left side panel, at the bottom) > Account Administration > Applications.

Note - To access the Applications you will need the Company Admin role.

For more information, see our Roles and Permissions help article.

In the 'create new application' section, add an application name (e.g. Goodlord, however this can be whatever you want it to be) and in the the 'API token scope' drop-down select 'Open API'.

Finally, add a contact name and email address of who will be building the application. It is really important you enter your developer's details as opposed to your own details so we can notify them of any changes to the API that might impact your set up.

Once you've entered all of the information, click the 'create application' button and you will see an API access token appear. This token is what will be used to integrate Goodlord with Street.

Click the 'click to copy' button which will copy this API access token to your clipboard.

Note - It's important to ensure you copy the API token before navigating away from the page as the token will not display once you have left the page.

Finally, share this API access token with Goodlord and they will be able to finalise the integration and they will complete the integration on their side.

Street is constantly being updated. This can mean that some of these articles become slightly out of date. If you spot something that looks a little bit different to your Street account, please let us know on the live chat so we can get it updated!
