Custom Task Types

Custom task types allow you to customise the types of tasks you create in Street, allowing you to more accurately categorise your teams tasks.

To get started, head to Settings > Company Settings > Custom Task Types.

Note - You will need to be a company admin to access these settings.

Here you can see a list of any existing custom task types and create new types.

Creating a custom task type

To create a custom task type, click the 'add task type' button at the top right. You can give your custom task type a name and choose where this task type should be available. For example, you may create a task type called 'Valuation Chaser' and make this available on 'Valuations'.

Note - You will need to select an area for your task type. This will make the task type available in that specific area of the system.

Repeating Tasks

Finally you can choose whether this task type should repeat and how often. If toggled off, the task will not repeat when completed. If toggled on you have the option of when the task should repeat, on completion or on a fixed scheduled, and how often, daily or weekly or monthly.

On Completion

Repeating on completion will only create a new task when the original one is completed, with a due date based on how often you select. For example if you choose to repeat every week, completing a task will create a new task 7 days later than the due date of the original task. This process would continue indefinitely until the most recent task is deleted or updated to not repeat.

On a fixed schedule

Repeating on a fixed schedule will automatically create a new task based on the schedule, regardless of if the task is completed or not. For example if you choose to repeat monthly on task creation date, a new task will be created for one month later than the due date of the original task. This process would continue indefinitely until the most recent task is deleted or updated to not repeat.

Editing / hiding a custom task type

To edit a custom task type click the pencil icon on the right of the task type.

To hide a custom task type click the eye icon on the right of the task type.

Note - Hiding a custom task type will prevent it from being selected when creating a task however any existing tasks using that task type will be unaffected.

If you need to view hidden tasks types, click the 'show hidden types' toggle and click the crossed out eye icon to show them again.

Note - It is not possible to delete a custom task type.
