Roles & Permissions in Street
Within Street you can create custom roles that govern what permissions your team have access to. Each user can be assigned multiple roles giving you the flexibility to customise their permission access.
Note - Only Branch or Company Admins will have access the Roles and Permissions settings.
There are two types of roles: Reserved Roles are default roles with default permissions assigned - these roles cannot be renamed or deleted but the permissions for them can be edited. Custom Roles are roles that you have created and can be renamed, deleted and have their permissions edited.
This article explains how to setup your roles and permissions but for information on assigning roles to users, see our Managing User Roles and Permissions help article.
To get started head to Settings > Account Administration > Roles & Permissions.
Creating a Role
From the roles & permissions page click the 'create role' button and give your role a name.
Next you need to assign the permissions that the role will have. From the list of permissions available, tick the checkbox next to each permission required and when finished click 'save changes' to finish creating the role.
Editing a Role
To edit an existing role select from the list of roles on the roles & permissions page. From here you can edit the permissions for that role.
For any custom roles you can also edit the name of the role by clicking the notepad icon next to the role name.
Additionally, from the 'manage' tab you can see the list of users that have that role assigned and remove the role from a user by clicking the bin icon.
Duplicating an existing Role
From the main roles & permissions page you can duplicate any custom role by clicking the three dot menu on the right hand side > duplicate role. This will copy the role and permissions but will generate with 0 team members assigned, you will need to assign these manually.
Deleting a Role
To delete a custom role, click into the role and select the 'delete rule' button.
If you delete New Role, any assigned users will lose any permissions defined as part of this role. This action is permanent and can not be undone
Note - You cannot delete Reserved Roles, as these are default roles added by Street.
