Point of Contact

This feature is in testing and currently only available to Street Labs agents.

Managing a property isn't always a direct line between you and the owner. Whether it’s a son helping an elderly parent sell their home or a family friend managing a rental for an overseas landlord, we know how important it is to keep the right person in the loop.

The Point of Contact feature allows you to grant specialised access to a trusted third party for both Sales and Lettings, ensuring the process moves forward smoothly without compromising legal security.

Note - If you are dealing with someone who is legally involved in the sale / let of a property, such as an executor, they should still be added in the 'owner' section and not added to the point of contact section.

What can a Point of Contact do?

A point of contact gets full consumer portal access and can act on behalf of the owner in a variety of ways to manage the day-to-day momentum of a sale or a let.

  • Automated Communications - Receive key email updates, including valuation reports, viewing requests, and offers.

  • Property Information Questionnaire - The ability to complete and submit the digital PIQ.

  • Listing Approval - Review and approve marketing materials and property listings.

  • Instruction - Formally instruct the agency to go live.

  • Viewing Management - Accept, decline, or reschedule viewing requests

  • Viewing Feedback - View all viewing feedback submitted from applicants.

  • Enquiries - Respond to applicant questions submitted through the Street platform.

  • Offer Management - Viewing all offers received on the property.

  • Documentation - Receive a copy of the Sales Memo to stay informed.

  • Payment Advice and Statements - For client accounting, point of contacts will be added to the payment advice and statements owner preferences to receives copies as a CC in the email to the owner.

What can a Point of Contact not do?

While a Point of Contact can handle the majority of the process, there are strict exceptions to maintain legal compliance and data privacy.

  • AML Compliance Checks - Anti-Money Laundering and legal identity checks cannot be completed by a Point of Contact; these must still be performed on the legal owners/landlords.

  • Sales Memo - While the Point of Contact receives a copy of the memo, their personal details are not listed on the official document.

Note - If an owner is marked as a confidential contact, the sales memo the point of contact receives will not show the correspondence address of any owners, to ensure sensitive personal data remains restricted to the legal owners.

How to Add a Point of Contact

To get started, navigate to a property page in Street and click 'Create' at the top right and then select Point of Contact.

From here you can search for a person that already exists in your system or create a new person, adding in their usual contact details. You can also add as many points of contact as needed by clicking the 'add another person' button. Additionally, you can enter the relationship the point of contact has to the owner, for example spouse, family member.

Finally you will need to tick the 'Identity of the owner's point of contact has been verified' checkbox, confirming you've confirmed their identity. After saving the point of contact, the owner will receive an email confirming that the person has been added and can now act on their behalf.

You can also add a point of contact when creating a property.

Editing a Point of Contact

To update a point of contact's relationship to the owner, click the pencil icon next to their name in the Point of Contact tab.

Removing a Point of Contact

To remove a point of contact, click the bin icon next to their name and confirm the removal. They will immediately lose access to the consumer portal and will stop receiving automated communications about the property.
