Ledger Charge & Receipt Permissions
Street lets you control ledger actions individually per role, rather than relying solely on the broad "Manage client accounting" permission. This means you can, for example, let someone receipt money in without being able to raise charges, or allow a team member to add entries while keeping editing and voiding reserved for senior staff.
Available Permissions
The Financial & Accounting permission group includes the following permissions:
Edit charges
Void charges
Add receipts
Edit receipts
Void receipts
Allocate funds to charges
Note - Each of these can be granted independently of the broader "Manage client accounting" permission, so you can mix and match access per role rather than granting all-or-nothing accounting access.
This also covers charges added from maintenance jobs and tenant refunds, so the same permission controls apply consistently across these charge types, not just charges raised directly on a ledger.
Where to Find Them
Head to Settings > Account Administration > Roles & Permissions, then create or edit a role and look for these toggles in the Financial & Accounting section. See our Roles & Permissions (Settings) help article for the general steps on creating and editing roles.
By default, the Company Admin, Branch Admin, and Agent roles all carry these permissions.
Note - A user without the matching permission won't see options like Amend Entry, Void Entry, or Allocate to Charge on the ledger. If a team member reports a ledger action is missing, check their role has the relevant permission enabled here.
