Manually Logging a Call

How to manually log a phone call against a record's activity feed

Written by Hannah Sullivan

Manually Logging a Call

If a call happens outside Street - for example on your mobile - you can log it manually against a record's activity feed in the same way you can log an email. This keeps a complete communication history on the record, even when the call itself didn't happen through Street.

Note - This is different from placing a call through Street's Twilio integration, which logs automatically once the call ends. See our Making Phone Calls from Street help article for that flow.

Logging a Call

To log a call, head anywhere in Street with an activity stream. Then go to the '+ Log' button.

When logging a call, search for who you spoke to by name or number. The search covers contacts relevant to the record type (owner, buyer, solicitor, etc.) as well as colleagues. If the number isn't saved against a contact yet, you can type it in directly.

Automatic Linking

A logged call automatically appears on the activity feed of everyone in the network whose saved number matches either side of the call - not just the contact you explicitly selected. This mirrors how an imported email already links to any account sharing that email address.

Fixing a Mistake

If a call or email was logged in error, Company Admins can remove it directly from the activity feed, with a confirmation prompt before it's deleted.

Note - Company admins can allow other users to remove calls from the activity feed. Just apply permission "Allow this user to delete manually logged emails and calls from the activity feed." to a user.

Duplicate Email Protection

The same email file can no longer be logged onto a record twice, so you won't end up with duplicate entries on the activity feed from re-uploading the same email.
