Two Factor Authentication
Two Factor Authentication, or 2FA, is an extra layer of protection used to ensure the security of your Street account beyond just a username and password. This feature involves the user of an Authentication application on your mobile phone, such as Google Authenticator and each user can enable or disable 2FA on their own individual account.
Note - By default 2FA is an optional feature however it can be enforced from branch settings, which will make it a mandatory requirement to log in to Street.
Enabling 2FA
To enable 2FA with within Street, head to Settings (on the left side panel, at the bottom) > My Settings > Two Factor Authentication > and click Enable.
Note - If you cannot see the Two Factor Authentication setting, please ask a company admin to contact the Live Chat team who can enable this feature for you.
From here, you will need to open your Authentication app and scan the QR code shown on screen in your Street account. Once scanned, you can enter the code from your app into Street to complete the set up.
Once confirmed, you will see the confirmation page below, highlighting the successful setup of 2FA as well as your Recovery Code.
IMPORTANT - You must record the Recovery Code somewhere safe as once you move from this page, the code cannot be accessed again.
The next time you login with your username and password, you will also be asked for your 2FA code from the app.
Should you have any problems accessing your 2FA code in the app, you can use the Recovery Code to bypass the login stage. Doing so will disable 2FA automatically for security reasons.
If you are consistently having errors with your two-factor authentication, it is worth checking that the time is correct on your phone / device that has the authentication app on it, as the time being incorrect will stop the system working.
Disabling 2FA
Should you wish to manually disable 2FA at any stage, go back to the Two Factor Authentication settings and click Disable.
