What is a Subject Access Request (SAR)?

Individuals have the right to access and receive a copy of their personal data, and other supplementary information. This is commonly referred to as a subject access request or 'SAR'. Individuals can make SARs verbally or in writing, including via social media.

Within Street, a SAR will include the following information:

  • Person full name, email and phone number

  • Phone call logs

  • Emails (including subject, body and send date)

  • Notes (*added on the person page only, see below for more information)

  • Enquiries

*Notes added on a person page will be included in an SAR but an SAR will not include notes added on other pages that relate to the person. For example, a note added on a viewing or sales offer or tenancy will show on the person page activity stream but will not be included in the SAR.

Generating a SAR in Street

To generate a SAR, head to the person page and click actions > generate SAR export.

Depending on the size of the file, this may take a few minutes but you will see a banner at the top of the page highlighting the download has started and then an on screen notification when the download is complete.

The notification will also display in your notification centre via the bell icon at the top right, in the 'for me' section.

Clicking this notification will download the SAR file to your computer, which you can then share with your client.

Note - It may be worth checking through the files to see if there is anything internal that you wish to remove from the files, in the event you have written anything confidential that the client shouldn't see.
