What’s the difference between Average Order Value and Cost Per Purchase in Strique?
Though they both relate to purchases, Average Order Value (AOV) and Cost Per Purchase (CPP) measure two very different things:
Average Order Value (AOV)
AOV tells you how much revenue you earn on average per order placed on your store.
Formula in Strique:
AOV = Net Sales ÷ Number of Purchases
Net Sales is your total earned revenue after deducting discounts, taxes, shipping, and refunds.
AOV helps you understand how much each customer spends per transaction.
Use AOV to optimize upselling, bundling, and pricing strategies.
Cost Per Purchase (CPP)
CPP tells you how much you're spending on ads to get one purchase.
Formula in Strique:
CPP = Total Ad Spend ÷ Number of Purchases
Ad spend is pulled from your connected ad platforms.
CPP helps you measure the efficiency of your ad campaigns.
A lower CPP means you’re acquiring customers more cost-effectively.
Key Difference:
AOV is about how much a customer spends (revenue).
CPP is about how much you spend to get that customer (cost).
In Strique, both metrics appear side by side in your dashboards so you can compare what you’re earning vs. what you’re spending per purchase—a crucial view for improving ROAS and profitability.
