In some instances, especially with distance learning, students are required to finish a chapter or book before taking an online test.

This too is possible and very easy to setup.

First, create your assessment and put it online.  Dont know how?  Follow these step by step instructions HERE

After the assessment or test setup, continue with your Chapters and pages.  If you have already setup your Chapters, click on Edit, if not, Start by creating a new chapter.   

On the Setup screen, navigate to the bottom where you will find a tick box:  "Finish chapter before taking the assessment"

By ticking this box you will force a student to first go through all the learning material in the chapter before the assessment can be viewed or displayed.
