An online paper is a question paper which is accessible to a learner online, i.e. from their portal.

An online paper could have a time limit, for example that they have to complete it in 30 minutes or could be could just be open for a certain period without a time limit.

An online paper could be a submission assignment (learner uploads a file), multiple choice or question paper which allows the student to fill in answers online.

An online paper with only multiple choice questions will automatically calculate the grade, all other question types require a staff member to grade it.

Sections of an online question paper:

Sections

When adding a section, think of this a part of the question paper which will display the total of all the questions in that section.
So if you had a section for World History and you then had several questions in that section with a total of 70 marks, there can be another section for National History and that sections questions would add up to 30 marks.

So the entire assessment would be out of 100 marks, but have two sections and then you could see how a learner did in World History and National History as well.

Questions

This contains what the learner will answer and how. There is either a text question, where the learner will type in an answer/response or a multiple choice question (only one correct answer), where the learner will select an answer whose value is set to correct or incorrect.

When adding the question you can also set the number of lines for the answer, which will give the learner more or less space to type and the maximum mark which will be awarded for the question.

File Uploads

This section of the paper allows for staff to upload files which the learner can download an use in responding to the questions.
