Use the Change Order Proposal feature when you need to update pricing or make significant changes—such as adding batteries, updating equipment, or modifying the design—after a proposal has already been closed won. This creates a copy of the original proposal with a new proposal ID, while keeping the original proposal intact for record-keeping.
In order to create a change order proposal, your proposal must be closed won. Follow the steps below to create a change order proposal.
Step 1: From your closed won proposal, click “Go To Project Detail”.
Step 2: Click “More” and select “Change Order”.
Step 3: Click “Yes”.
Step 4: You will be redirected to the change order proposal. You will notice that the proposal has a “Change order for” tag reflecting the ID of the original proposal. The change order is a copy of this original proposal.
Step 5: Update the proposal according to your requirements, for example, adding adders, batteries, or updating the system design. Remember to unfinalize the selected financing option before making changes, and refinalize after completing your updates.
Step 6: Click “Sign Now” to initiate the contract signing process. Once documents are signed and the proposal moves to the “Closed Won” stage, you will be able to access the updated project details under the original project ID.
Note: If updating the design, please note that the design created in the change order proposal will not sync with the original proposal, meaning that the designs in both proposals will be different.
