How to Automate Task Assignment Using the Round Robin Method?

Updated over a week ago

Task template queues make task assignment faster and more structured by setting up a queue with specific roles and team members. Once the setting is enabled, tasks are assigned automatically using round robin logic, which helps distribute work fairly, reduces manual effort, and keeps tasks moving without delay and human intervention.

Follow the steps below to automate task assignment using the round robin method:

Step 1: Go to “Settings”.

Step 2: Scroll down to “Task Template Queues” and click the “Edit” button.

Step 3: Turn on the “Enable Task Templates Round Robin” toggle and click the “Add Queue” button to add users to the queue.

Step 4: Type the Queue Name, Type, Sub Type, and Users. Click “Save”.

Step 5: Click “Update” to save the changes.

Step 6: Click “Manage Database” from the main menu and select “Database” from the dropdown.

Step 7: Click “Installation” and then “Solar System”. Select “Task Templates” from the dropdown.

Step 8: Click “Add”.

Step 9: Provide a “Subject” name and select “Role” from the “Assign To” options. Subsequently, select the role, stage, and other details. Click “Add” once you have filled out all the information. The task will be assigned to the user, who is next in line, using the Round Robin logic.
