Billing Retry Settings
When a customer's payment fails, Subscribfy can automatically retry the charge.
Retry attempts (1-15) | How many times to retry a failed payment |
Retry frequency (1-15 days) | How many days to wait between retry attempts |
Contact Page | URL where customers can update their payment method |
Failed Charge Email | Choose Shopify's default email or a custom email |
VIP Trial Settings
VIP Trial creates a small initial charge to verify the customer's payment method before their full membership begins.
Enable VIP trial | Turn on trial verification for new memberships |
Amount ($0.50 - $10,000) | The small amount to charge for verification |
How it works: Customer signs up → small trial charge → separate order with "{tier_name}-trial" tag → full membership begins next billing cycle.
Note: Trial orders do not earn store credits or loyalty points.
Membership Agreement
Show a checkbox at checkout that customers must check before purchasing a membership.
Requires: Shopify Plus with Checkout Extensibility
How to set up:
Enable Checkout Extensibility in Shopify admin
Go to Online Store → Customize checkout
Add the Subscribfy block to your checkout
Enable Membership Agreement in Subscribfy settings
Analytics
Go to Subscribfy → Analytics → Membership tab to see how your memberships are performing.

Common Use Cases
Reduce Cancellations with Skip
The goal: Give frustrated customers a way to pause instead of cancel
Enable "Skip the Month" in settings
Set skip days to 5-7 (so they can't skip at the last minute)
Customers will now see the skip option on their dashboard
Save Customers with Churn Offers
The goal: Show special offers when customers try to cancel
Enable "Enable Churn Offers" in settings
Go to Settings → Churn Offers tab to create your offers
When customers try to cancel, they'll see your offers first
Let Customers Update Payments
The goal: Reduce failed charges from expired cards
The "Update payment method" link is always visible by default. When customers click it, they can enter new card details and their next charge will use the new payment method.
Troubleshooting
Customers can't find the dashboard?
Share the correct URL with them: https://yourstore.com/apps/subscribfy-api/store/dashboard-login. Make sure "Enable dashboard login" is turned on.
Skip button isn't showing?
Check that "Enable Skip the Month" is turned on. Also check the skip days setting - if set to 5, the button only appears when the customer is more than 5 days from their billing date.
Customer can't swap products?
Verify "Enable Swap Product" is enabled and check the product selection settings. If set to "Specific products", make sure you've selected which products can be swapped to.
