How to use Supanote in Live Sessions?

Focus on Your Client While Supanote Documents Your Session

Updated over 3 months ago

Supanote's live session feature transforms real-time conversations into professional clinical notes – whether you're conducting in-person therapy or telehealth sessions via Zoom, Google Meet, or other platforms.

The benefit: Complete focus on therapeutic rapport while our AI captures and structures your session content in the background.

Starting Your Live Session

From your Supanote dashboard:

  1. Locate the "Capture Live Session" option

  2. Click Start Session

Session Recording Options

Option 1: In-Person Sessions

Setup process:

  1. Select In-Person

  2. Choose your preferred audio input:

    • Built-in device microphone

    • External headset

    • Dedicated microphone

  3. Click Start Capturing

Privacy Guarantee: All audio processing occurs in real-time with bank-level encryption. No raw audio files are stored on our servers – content is processed and immediately deleted after note generation.

Option 2: Telehealth Sessions

For virtual appointments:

  1. Select Telehealth

  2. Choose the Chrome browser tab containing your telehealth platform

  3. Ensure "Share Tab Audio" is enabled (typically activated by default)

  4. Click Share to begin session capture

Important: Supanote operates passively through your device's audio output – we never join your video calls or access your telehealth platform directly.

Completing Your Session

When your appointment concludes:

  1. Click Finish to end recording

  2. Select your client from the dropdown menu (or create a new client profile)

  3. Choose your preferred note template

  4. Click Create Note

Your professionally formatted draft note will be ready for review within seconds.

Review and Finalization

Your completed draft appears in Notes Pending Review, where you can:

  • Make manual edits

  • Use AI-powered modifications

  • Export directly to your EHR system

  • Download as PDF for records

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If you see: “Screen sharing permission was denied or not available” during Telehealth:

    • Make sure you’re using Google Chrome.

    • Allow microphone + screen sharing permissions in your browser.

    • Select the correct Chrome tab (Zoom, Meet, etc.) with Share Tab Audio ON.

    • Refresh and try again.

  • If audio still doesn’t capture, check your mic settings (see How to Change Your Microphone Settings for Supanote).
