Have Your Subscribers Be Your Biggest Champions!

How it Works

1. Enabling the tool is the first step to empowering subscribers through subscriber referrals. A blue banner announcing the Subscriber Referral option will appear at the top of your Creator Dashboard. Select ‘Check it out’ on the right-hand side to take you to the Subscriber Referral page.

2. Once you land at your Subscriber Referral dashboard, the next step is to enable the tool. Doing so will open up a view that allows you to see the number of referrals and followers, customize reward tiers, and change any email copy subscribers see when they attain the reward levels.

3. Now that you’ve enabled Subscriber Referrals, you are ready to begin designing your reward tier. There are two options for prizes, Custom and Credit. Credit refers to a dollar amount subscribers receive when they meet a certain threshold. Custom allows you to offer a unique set of rewards. These can be:

  • Merchandise

  • Live Event tickets

  • Exclusive Meet & Greets

  • Studio tours

  • Anything you can create!

4. Your subscribers are now an integral part of the show’s success. When you navigate to the subscriber page, you will see a leaderboard and area for the audience to share your channel. On mobile, the share button activates typical phone sharing options like messaging, Instagram, X, or other available options. This shared link will allow a referred person to listen to one free episode of their choosing.

5. After enabling your Subscriber Referrals, you may want to tweak and adjust things until you settle on the proper mix of rewards. To remove access for your subscribers until the dashboard is complete, all you have to do is remove the module from the subscriber page.

Navigate to the Subscriber Page under the settings tab and you will see different modules to customize your subscriber’s view. After enabling Subscriber Referral, you will see the module highlighted in red below. Simply select the X on the right-hand side to remove the module from the subscriber page. To add it back when you are ready, find the Add a Module dropdown menu at the bottom of the screen and select Referral to bring it back.

How To Build Hype

For your Subscriber Referral campaign to be successful, you will want to build significant hype. Building awareness of the opportunity and potential rewards creates the best chance to see a real boost in your subscribers. After all, if your audience loves the content, their friends will, too!

Ways to build hype

  • Call to Action - Whether in your premium content or publicly, announce the start of your Subscriber Referral Program. Make sure to have a passionate and directive call that empowers the audience.

  • Rewards - Rewards can be a powerful incentive for your audience. The most successful referral campaigns will have a combination of a great call to action, and some awesome prizes. Rewards can include:

    • Subscription Credit - Crediting a subscriber's account can be a great way to offer a free month or even a year while also gaining valuable subscribers.

    • Merchandise - Who doesn’t love some free swag? These can be exclusive to subscribers and tiered at to reward different items for different levels.

    • Live Event Tickets - Have a tour coming up soon? Offer your subscribers tickets to the show! An easy and fun way to engage your audience and build hyper for your upcoming tour.

    • Sweepstakes - Put together an extravagant trip to tour your studio or an island getaway! There’s plenty of options and ways to create incredibly unique prizes.

    • Partner with Advertisers - Partner with a popular advertiser of your public show to deliver unmatched value for your audience and your partners with product giveaways or discounts.

    • Above and Beyond - What can you create! This tool is meant to give you the ability to drive meaningful engagement and excitement for your audience.
