Assigning user groups

You can assign each user a Group when you invite them to Surfboard, or later from the Members tab of your workspace. You can use Groups to share content in your workspace more easily. For example, when creating an update, you can choose which groups will be able to see the update.

Each user’s Group should reflect their function within your organization:

  • Company: employees of your company, including CEOs, CFOs, marketing team members, etc.

  • Board: members of your board of directors

  • Investor: investors who are not on your board of directors

  • Advisor: company consultants and informal advisors

  • Other: anyone else you’ve invited to your workspace, such as legal counsels
