To create a new approval, go to the Board approvals tab in the main navigation. Then click the Create approval button in the top right corner.

You can choose from two types of approvals:

  1. Meeting minutes approval: create meeting minutes from a past meeting and assign it to your board for approval.

  2. General approval: create a custom board approval from scratch.

Choose which type of approval you want to create and click Confirm to create.

Approvals are board decisions on corporate resolutions. Most of these are board formalities, such as recurring ESOP approvals or board meeting minutes. But you might also need board approvals if you’re raising a new round or considering acquiring another company. Surfboard currently supports Yes, No, and Abstain votes, and records names, signatures, votes, and timestamps. We recommend checking with your lawyers on what types of approvals are needed under your corporate bylaws.
