Using default properties

Properties are additional pieces of information stored in CRM records. For instance, the "Source" property on a Company record indicates where the company was added from.

Default field values, or default properties, are preset values that can be assigned to new records in your CRM. This saves you from entering the same information repeatedly.

To set up your default field values or default properties, follow these steps:

1. Access your Surfe dashboard.

2. Look for the "Default Values" section.

3. On the default values page, you'll see two columns. The left side displays the information that can be pulled from your CRM. The right side allows you to specify the values you want to automatically insert in those fields when adding a new record from LinkedIn. Rest assured, all changes will be saved automatically.

Once you've set up your default field values or default properties, here's what you can expect:

1. When creating a new record on LinkedIn, the default field value will be automatically filled.

2. You can easily edit field values directly from the LinkedIn interface using Surfe's CRM overlay.

If a required field doesn't exist in your CRM, don't worry. You can create a new field in your CRM to store the specific information you want. Surfe supports various CRMs such as Hubspot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, and Copper, and we provide tutorials on how to create custom fields for each of them.

Please note that default field values apply only to certain types of custom fields, including:

  • Text

  • Number

  • Phone

  • Picklist

  • URL

  • Email
