Role: Administrator and Editor.
Use the Files page to upload ancillary files associated with a project to a secure location in the cloud. Uploading and storing project design files for review (.cce files) and non-design related information about the design project, such as vendor part specifications, engineering notes, image (graphics) files, schedules, budgeting spreadsheets, and so forth provides a collaborative repository for team members who access the project.
The Xpedition Viewer application accepts many data file formats for storage in folders associated with the project. Spreadsheets in Excel format, functional specifications in Word format, vendor documentation in PDF format, and graphics files are a few examples of file formats you can associate with a project.
Restrictions and Limitations
A collaboration team member with a Guest User role cannot upload files to a folder associated with a project (see User Roles).
The maximum file storage capacity for non-design related data associated with a project depends on the Xpedition Viewer tier:
Standard tier = 10GB
Community tier = 1GB
The application supports the following image file format extensions; otherwise, the image will not display:
.apng | .bmp | .ico | .jpeg | .pjp | .png | .webp |
.avif | .gif | .jfif | .jpg | .pjpeg | .svg | .cce |
Prerequisites
You selected a project from the Project page.
(Optional) You created one or more folders to contain the ancillary files associated with the project (see Creating a Folder).
Procedure
In the project's Files page, open a folder or create a folder that will receive a copy of the ancillary files you select.
βNote: If you do not select a folder name, the software defaults to the top level of the Files page.Use either of these methods to upload files to a project's collaboration workspace:
Tile View mode | Table View mode |
|
Results
The software copies the selected files to the project's collaboration workspace. A message displays when the upload process is complete.
β
If a file with the same name exists in the same project location or project folder:
Click Cancel to stop the upload process.
Click Replace to remove the existing file in the folder and then upload the new file to the cloud.
Click Rename and when the Rename File dialog box displays, type a unique filename, and then click Done. The software uploads the ancillary file with the updated filename and preserves the existing file in the cloud.
