Tier: Xpedition Viewer Standard.

A project administrator can add stakeholders that do not have an Xpedition Viewer license or a license for schematic and layout tools to project designs stored in a cloud collaboration space. Granting a stakeholder "Guest Viewer" access from the Xpedition Viewer application enables limited access to projects and facilitates collaboration with internal and external team members without consuming a subscription or software application license.

Guest viewer access to a project provides a quick and cost-effective means to expand collaborative efforts during the design, development, and review phase of a project.

Note: Guest Viewer access does not require a license and is exempt from some security and design auditing features of the Xpedition Viewer application.

Restrictions and Limitations

  • The Guest Viewer role enables a subset of design viewing and collaboration functions. For more information, see User Roles.

  • You must have a Xpedition Viewer Standard tier license to grant Guest Viewer roles to a selected project.

Prerequisites

  • You are the owner of the selected project and have an Administrator role in the Xpedition Viewer application.

  • The Users page associated with the selected project is open in your web browser.

  • You have a valid email address for the stakeholder you want to add as a Guest Viewer to the project.

Procedure

  1. Click Add New User to Project.

  2. From the Add New User to Project panel:

    1. Select Guest User from the Type field.

    2. Type the guest user's name and email address, and then click Add.

Results

The software:

  • Sends an email invitation to join the project collaboration team with a secure link that, when clicked, opens the Xpedition Viewer application and grants access to the project in a Guest Viewer role.

  • Notifies the project administrator when the Guest Viewer is added to the project's collaboration team.
