Challenge Definition Owner

Owner, co-owner, ownership, author, access, privileges

Updated over a year ago

The Owner of a Challenge Definition is the user who originally created the document or has been given the role of owner by another Owner.

Owners have the power to invite users to collaborate on the Challenge document in the Team Card. Owners can also control who else can invite others to collaborate on the Challenge document. Owners are the only ones that can modify the roles of other users or remove users, with the exception of other Owners. Owners have full rights a privileges on a Challenge document, including view, edit, clone, and delete rights. Owners are the only users able to delete a Challenge document.

If you want to change the ownership of your Challenge Definition, you can do so by first inviting users via the Invitations Tab within the Team Card. Once the invitation has been accepted, the user will be removed from the Invitations Tab and added to the Access Tab within the Team Card. From the Access Tab, an Owner can update the user's role to "Owner". A Challenge document can have multiple Owners. You are then co-Owners with all of the same rights and privileges. Note that an Owner cannot change the user permissions of another Owner. The only way to remove permissions from or downgrade an Owner is by having the Owner downgrade itself. Please be aware that an Owner cannot downgrade itself until it first assigns another Owner. The Challenge Definition MUST have at least one Owner at all times.
