What is the difference between a challenge and a problem?

Challenges vs Problems

Updated over a year ago

A challenge is similar to a problem in that there is a desire to solve both challenges and problems. However, challenges differ from a problem in that a challenge may not be perceived negatively as it exists today. Calling something a problem almost always carries a negative connotation. For example, your challenge may be to increase revenue, but that does not mean sales are currently a problem. You simply have a desire to set a target to grow the business - that is a challenge.

SWARM is here to help you and your organization define and solve your challenges, whether they're actually a problem or an aspiration to improve.
