Where To Get Help: AI Tutor, Human Tutor Or Chat

The three places to get help (AI Tutor, human tutor, chat bubble), what each is for, and which to use for your question.

Written by JJ

There are three places to get help inside Tailored Tutors, and they do different jobs. Asking in the right place gets you a better answer, faster.

1. The AI Tutor: subject questions, instantly

Where: at the bottom of every lesson and past-paper question page (Biology and Chemistry Ultimate Guide).

For: anything about the content or the exam. "Why is this the answer?", "What does the examiner want for a 'suggest' question?", "Explain the Bohr effect again."

It is trained on a decade of our tutors' answers, your exam board's specification and the past papers, so it is exam-board specific and it links you to the right resources. It replies immediately. Try it first: most questions are fully answered here.

2. Your human tutor: when you are still stuck

Where: the "Still Stuck? Ask A Human Tutor" button underneath the AI Tutor on the same page.

For: anything the AI Tutor did not answer well enough, or anything you want a real examiner's eye on.

Ask on the relevant lesson or question page so your tutor can see what you are working on. Your question disappears after you post it and reappears with the answer, usually within 24 hours. Full steps: How To Ask Your Tutor A Question.

Maths Solo: students can book a paid 1:1 Add-on session with a maths tutor instead. How to book one.

3. The chat bubble: using the course and your account

Where: bottom right corner of every page.

For: how the Academy works ("Where do I find my study plan?", "How do I download Template Notes?"), and anything about your membership, billing or login.

The chat bubble cannot answer subject or exam questions and will not pass them to a tutor; for those, use the AI Tutor and human tutor on the page.

Quick guide

Subject or exam question → AI Tutor, then human tutor, on the lesson page.

How do I use this? → chat bubble.

Membership, payment, password → chat bubble, or email hello@tailoredtutors.co.uk.
