This guide shows how to check that you are on your TakeCap account, find an instrument (example: NAS100), place a pending order with Stop Loss and Take Profit, and move SL/TP on the chart. The screenshots are from the TradeLocker web platform in Portuguese. In English, the buttons are in the same place.
1. Check that you are on your TakeCap account
Click the account icon in the bottom-left corner of TradeLocker.
The list must show TakeCap FT and your account number, with your plan's starting balance (for example, US$ 5,000.00 on a 5K plan).
If you see a different account (for example, a TradeLocker demo with US$ 100,000.00), you are not on our server. Click log out and log in again with the email and password from the "Account Details" email and the server TCFT.
Can't find NAS100 or another instrument from our list? The most common cause is being logged in to an account outside the TCFT server. Follow step 1 above. Full list of instruments: Is there a leverage limit? What instruments can I trade?
2. Find the instrument
Type the symbol (for example, NAS100) in the instrument search.
Click the instrument row. The chart and the order panel open for it.
3. Set up the pending order
The numbers match the screenshot:
Pending (Pendente) instead of Market.
Price: the entry price you want.
Buy (Comprar) or Sell (Vender). The platform sets Limit or Stop on its own, depending on whether your price is below or above the current price.
Stop Loss: tick the box and type the price.
Take Profit: tick the box and type the price.
Size: choose "lots" in the unit menu and type the size.
Check the summary on the button (for example, BUY LIMIT 0.01 @ 29000.00) and click it to send the order.
On Risk Management plans, a Stop Loss is mandatory on every trade (What is Risk Management Plan?). On the other plans it is not mandatory, but we recommend always using one.
4. See your order on the chart
The order stays in the Pending tab until the price reaches your entry. Then it becomes a position in the Positions tab.
The chart shows three lines: TP, the pending entry (Limit Pendente) and SL.
5. Move SL and TP on the chart
Click the pencil (Edit) on the order in the Pending tab, or on the position in the Positions tab.
Drag the SL and TP lines on the chart to the new price. The fields in the panel update as you drag.
Click Confirm (Confirmar) to save, or Discard (Descartar) to cancel the change.
To cancel a pending order, click the X at the end of its row in the Pending tab.
