I want to stay on my plan next year! Can I do that?

If you know your current plan will be offered next year and don't want to change, your carrier will typically renew your plan. However, you still need to re-enroll in your company's HRA and provide updated proof of coverage for the upcoming year.

To stay informed, check with your carrier for when new plan documents become available, typically at the start of the Open Enrollment Period.

Many plans change from year to year, sometimes significantly, and we always encourage people to shop around to see what their full set of options are. In many cases, you may find that a better option is available due to the changing circumstances of the individual health insurance market. For example: Reviewing plans also helps confirm whether your current plan is still available or if changes have been made, ensuring you make an informed decision for next year.

  1. It's not uncommon for plans to change networks. You'll want to double check that your doctors will continue to accept your plan next year!

  2. It's also common for monthly premiums to change. Check your premium for 2026 to make sure it's still the plan that makes the most sense for you.

If you aren't sure, or you want help looking into your options, we can help! Schedule a time to talk to a member of our Enrollment Team, and we can talk through your options with you. **

If you do decide to stay on the same plan, check with your insurance carrier to ensure its available next year and automatically renewing.

I am sure I want to stay on the same plan! Now how do I update my 2026 HRA account with Take Command Health?

Even if you stay on the same plan, for compliance purposes, we ask for updated information each year. You'll still need to re-enroll in your company's HRA for 2026 and provide an updated proof of coverage for 2026 through your Take Command Health member portal.

Proof of coverage should include your name, the plan year (2026), and clearly display the premium amount, ensuring legibility and accuracy.

When you login to your member portal during Open Enrollment, you'll automatically be placed into the re-enrollment flow. On the Reimbursement Amount page, click "Set up reimbursement for your existing plan." Follow the prompts on the portal to update necessary details, ensuring your information is correct for the new plan year.

If you have trouble finding the option, it may be due to the timing of your plan activation or eligibility date; ensure these have passed before attempting to proceed.

We'll then ask you what type of plan you have, and then walk you through the onboarding flow, asking you to provide proof of your 2026 plan.

Make sure all documents explicitly reference the 2026 plan year and include required details such as eligibility dates and coverage specifics.

Be sure that the document you provide shows your name, a 2026 date, and your 2026 premium! Additionally, ensure the document is clearly legible and includes all required information to avoid delays in processing your enrollment.

In case of issues, double-check with your insurance provider to confirm issuance dates, and contact Take Command support for guidance if delays persist.

Haven't received documentation for your 2026 plan? No worries, you can come back later once you get it! Just click "Exit and Save" in the bottom left hand corner, and you can go back and upload when you receive that proof of coverage from the insurance company. We'll enter you back into that 2026 onboarding flow every time you log back in. Remember to check your insurance carrier's website or contact their support team if you experience delays in obtaining your proof of coverage.

Consider setting an alert to remind yourself to upload the required documents in January, and ensure all proof clearly specifies 2026 coverage details to avoid re-submission.

**If you do decide to change plans, you'll need to cancel your 2026 plan directly with your insurance carrier.

Additionally, if you're enrolling for 2026 through a Special Enrollment Period due to a Qualifying Life Event (QLE), provide necessary verification documents like cancellation letters or proof of a new address within the specified deadline.
