Bulk Delete Staff by .csv

How to bulk delete staff via .csv file from the district product.

Districts are living environments that are constantly changing--especially during transition times such as the end of the semester or school year. Staff members may switch roles, move schools, or leave the district altogether. To ensure timely removal of staff members from the TalkingPoints platform, you now have the ability to bulk remove staff members via a .csv file.

You must still remove staff from your SIS data to avoid reinstating staff during the next nightly sync.

Prepare the .csv file

In a spreadsheet tool of your choice, please format your file as follows:

  • Title Column A, Row 1 with First Name (Optional)

  • Title Column B, Row 1 with Last Name (Optional)

  • Title Column C, Row 1 with Email Address

In all subsequent rows within this column, add the required information for any staff members you would like to delete from the TalkingPoints platform.

Tip: Only the Email Address column is required in the .csv file. However, if it makes it easier for you to add additional columns with staff first name and last name as a reference for yourself, you may do so. Our system will only use the email address column.

Download the sheet as a .csv file.


Upload the .csv file to delete staff

Step 1: Click on 'Staff & Roles.'

Step 2: Click on 'Manage Staff.'

Step 3: Select 'delete staff by csv file.'

Step 4: Drag and drop the .csv file you downloaded, or browse your computer files.

Step 5: Click 'Delete.'

Step 6: Confirm you wish to delete the staff members in your file. Click Delete.

The TalkingPoints system will run backend checks and delete any staff members listed in the .csv file.

If a staff member does not have a match in our system, they will not be deleted. You may choose to download a list of any staff members who were not found.
