Rest days are just as important as working out! For amazing results and to reach your goals, you don’t need to complete intense workouts every day. Skipping rest and recovery can lead to some not so pleasant side effects that will affect your everyday life – decreased performance, fatigue and altered hormonal states.
Tammy has incorporated rest days into the programs and spaced out the workouts to allow sufficient rest, although you can still work out on these days with alternative muscle groups. Take at least one rest day a week to allow your body to recover.
Rest days will allow your muscles, bones, connective tissue and nerves to rebuild. Resting improves your performance and reduces the risk of injury. To stay active on your rest days, gentle movements are recommended: yoga, walking and stretching. This will also help prevent your body from being overtrained and burn out.
