Student Guide: Manage your billing information

Update your payment method, manage subscriptions, and view your receipts

If you’re a student or coaching client on Teachable, you can manage your billing details, subscriptions, and payment methods directly from your account.

  • If your account is linked to a Teachable Account, manage billing through your Teachable dashboard.

  • If you’re using a school account, manage billing within each school individually.


Add or change your credit/debit card

One-time purchases:

  • At checkout, check “Save my billing info for future purchases” to save your payment info.

Recurring payments (subscriptions or payment plans):

  • Your card is saved automatically when you subscribe.

Access and update your billing information

In order to update, change, or remove a credit or debit card:

  1. Log in to the school you're enrolled in.

  2. Click the user icon located in the top-right corner of any page.

  3. Click Add/Change Credit Card from the dropdown menu.

Once you click the Add/Change Credit Card link, you will be taken to one of two pages depending on whether you have a school account or a connected Teachable Account.

For school accounts:

On the Add/Change Credit Card page:

  • Remove a card: Click Remove Card.

  • Add/update a card: Enter your card details, then click Update Credit Card.

For Teachable Accounts:

On your Teachable Billing page, you’ll see:

  • Schools I Own: Manage billing for any schools you own.

  • Schools I’m Enrolled In: Manage your subscriptions for each school.

  • Stored Credit Cards: View or edit saved cards.

Add a new card

  1. Click Add New Card.

  2. Enter your card details.

  3. Click Add Card

Tip: Check “Make default for course enrollments on new schools” if you want to use this card for new purchases.

Change your default card

  1. Click the three dots next to the card you want to set as default.

  2. Select Set Default Card For New Schools.

Note: This only affects new purchases. To update cards for existing subscriptions, see below.

Change or unlink a card for existing subscriptions

  1. In the Schools I’m Enrolled In section, click the dropdown for the school.

  2. Select your new card. A ✅ checkmark will confirm your choice.

Each subscription is separate. Update them one at a time for each school.

Remove a card

  1. Click the three dots next to the card.

  2. Select Remove Card.

If a card is tied to an active subscription, you’ll need to update that subscription first.

Manage existing memberships and subscriptions

In your school’s Memberships & Subscriptions page, you’ll see all active subscriptions.

For each one, you can:

  • View the membership tier or course name

  • Cancel at the end of the billing cycle

  • Upgrade/downgrade your membership

Reactivate cancelled membership or subscription

Before the end of your billing cycle, click Renew to restore access. For example, if you subscribed on January 1st and cancelled on January 10th, you will have until February 1st to renew the cancelled membership or subscription.

After the billing cycle ends, you’ll need to repurchase the product.

PayPal subscriptions cannot be renewed—only repurchased.

Add or edit address information

  1. Go to your Profile > Address section in the school.

  2. Fill in your address fields (**required fields marked with *).

  3. Click Update Billing Info to save.

Note: This does not change your original checkout billing address but will apply to future payments.


View your receipts

  1. Click your profile icon.

  2. Select Purchase History.

  3. Click View Receipt next to your purchase.

Receipts are also emailed to the address used at checkout.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my old card still being charged?

  • For school accounts, follow the steps in Add or change credit/debit card to remove your old card. Repeat this process for each school.

  • For Teachable Accounts, setting a new default card only affects new purchases. Update your subscriptions in the Schools I’m Enrolled In section.

If it still doesn’t work, contact support@teachable.com.

I’m on a recurring payment and don’t see a cancel option.

  • School owners can disable cancel options for fixed payment plans.

  • Contact your school owner if the cancel button isn’t available.

  • If they don’t respond, contact support@teachable.com.

Can I change my billing date for a subscription?

No, your billing date is set when you first purchase the subscription. Contact your school owner for help.

Where is my billing history?

Currently, students can’t view billing history in their account.
Check your email for receipts or contact your school owner for transaction history.
