Overview

With our latest release, we've enhanced support for variable compensation and introduced archived departments for a more complete view of historical employee data.

With our variable compensation enhancements, customers can now split their variable pay field into bonus and commissions, and can input either as a percentage of base compensation.

By updating the logic around how we treat outdated HRIS departments, we've ensured that all past employees will be accounted for in your organization's historical data, even if their departments are no longer active.

Read on for more information about these updates as well as some additional enhancements we've released over the past two weeks.

New features

Variable compensation enhancements

Previously, variable compensation was available as a single, numeric field in TeamOhana. Today we are announcing two new feature enhancements that will enable users to more accurately display their variable compensation in TeamOhana: bonus and commission fields, and the ability to display variable compensation as a percentage of the base salary.

Bonus and Commission fields

TeamOhana now has the ability to ingest two different variable compensation fields - bonus and commission - rather than group them together as one field. The headcount ledger and hiring tracker will mirror what customers have in their HRIS and in their offers through their ATS, so all of the information will be automatically ingested and displayed the same way it is in each system.

If your company only uses one single variable compensation field, TeamOhana still supports the ability to display compensation in this way.

Variable compensation as a percentage of base salary

The other enhancement to variable compensation is the ability to input either bonus or commission as a percentage of the base salary for new headcount. Once the percentage is input, TeamOhana will automatically make the calculation and display the variable amount in the relevant currency.

Going forward, if your company issues either bonus or commission as a percentage of base salary, this information will be reflected in TeamOhana and no manual calculations will be required.

Archiving unused departments

Previously, when unused or outdated departments were removed from TeamOhana, they were deleted from the system. This meant that any former employees who had been terminated while in those departments were not counted in historical headcount because they were deleted along with their departments.

Now, when departments are no longer in use by your company in your HRIS, TeamOhana has the ability to archive them instead of deleting them. This will ensure that your headcount numbers are correct going forward, and all terminated employees will be accounted for rather than removed from the system.
