What does the Slack app do?
You'll receive notifications whenever you need to start or end a shift, switch activity, or take a break.
You'll also be sent an update if your schedule changes mid-shift, so you can stay up to date.
You can choose to sync your Slack status to your schedule. Then, your status will show an emoji for the activity you're currently scheduled on.
How do I install it?
Log into your Surfboard account
Click your avatar in the top right hand of the screen to open the menu
Select 'Add to Slack'
You'll then be taken to a new page and asked to authenticate the App. Click 'allow'.
Your app will then be installed and ready to go. You should receive a welcome message in the Surfboard Slack channel right away.
Why can't I install the app?
Slack only allows full workspace members to install 3rd party apps.
If you are a single or multi-channel guest in Slack (e.g. you work for a BPO but are a part of your clients Slack), then unfortunately you are unable to install apps and so will not be able to use the Surfboard Slack App. Read more on the Slack website
If you're not a guest, and still unable to install the app, it may be that you don't have the right permissions. Ask a Slack admin to allow the Surfboard app for your workspace and then repeat these steps. Here's a guide you can share.
