Here are a few tips to streamline operations when a surfer is leaving your team.

Utilise the 'clear shifts' tool

Once you know a surfer's last day, you can use the 'clear shifts' tool in the schedule to easily clear any shifts that they won't be in employment for.

Clearing their shifts will also clear their activities, giving you a truer view of your upcoming coverage and capacity.

How to clear shifts:

  • In week view, go to tools > 🧹clear shifts

  • Select the surfers whose schedule you want to clear and the date range, using their last day as the start. You can clear up to one month of shifts at a time, including any activities that are scheduled within them.

  • Hit clear shifts, and your schedule will be updated!

  • If any of these shifts were previously published, you’ll need to republish the schedule to push the update to other surfers. You can check this at any time by flipping the publish toggle.

Delete them on their last day

Once a surfer is deleted they will be removed from the schedule as well as any shift or activity plans they were previously included in.

Please note: if the surfer was previously involved in a round-robin, deleting them will cause the round robin order to regenerate to work with the updated headcount. This will not affect any shifts applied to the schedule, but will change the order going forward.

Include deleted surfers in timesheets

Surfboard stores data for deleted surfers, so you can accurately report on their time, even after they have left.

  • Go to reporting > timesheets and select the range of time you wish to download.

  • Select 'include deleted surfers' from the additional options list.

  • Download your CSV timesheet.
