What is a sales channel?

A sales channel is a multi-supplier digital space where your products are made available to buyers. It’s the same as what we commonly refer to as a marketplace.

Marketplaces give you visibility and access to targeted buyer communities. They can be open to a broad network of suppliers, or restricted, limited to a specific group according to its managers specifications. For example, a marketplace could only be open to textile suppliers from a certain territory or following certain sustainability guidelines.

Who owns these marketplaces?

Each marketplace is owned and managed by a third-party organization. These organizations are responsible for curating the marketplace, approving suppliers, and often setting guidelines or themes.

Marketplace owners include:

  • Industry institutions

  • Trade shows

  • Trademarks ((yarn, certification, fibers))

  • Media organizations

  • Circularity and sustainability institutions

  • Nation-wide textile or manufacturing associations

By participating in a marketplace, your products are placed in a curated space that’s designed to attract relevant buyers, giving you more visibility and industry presence.

Note: All marketplace-related actions, including sending product display requests and managing your presence, can be done directly from your system’s admin panel.

If you’re unsure about a marketplace or need help verifying its status, feel free to contact Tengiva for support or questions related to the platform’s technology.
