Purpose
Resolve cases where a minimum or maximum safety stock (in days) set via a policy override is not applying to selected items.
Step 1: Check for a Conflicting Configuration Setting
A global setting in your Configuration screen may be taking precedence over your policy override.
Navigate to Settings > Configuration.
Select the Policy tab.
In the Safety Stock panel, look for a setting called No safety stock for items with less than [X] sales per year.
If an item’s sales fall below this number, it will be assigned 0 safety stock days, regardless of your policy override.
To resolve, either change this global parameter (for example, set it to 0) or adjust the item’s forecast to exceed the threshold.

Step 2: Check for a Min/Max Conflict
A conflict can occur if Minimum safety stock days is greater than Maximum safety stock days. This can happen if Min and Max values come from different sources (two different policy overrides, or an override vs. configuration).
In this situation, Maximum safety stock days takes precedence and the Minimum constraint is discarded.
Step 3: Check for a Higher Priority Override
Policy overrides are applied in order by Sequence number, from lowest to highest.
Navigate to Settings > Policy overrides.
Review the Sequence column.
Check whether your item is included in another, conflicting rule with a higher sequence number than the one you expect to apply.

💡 Tips
Set Both Min and Max: When creating a safety stock override, specify both the minimum and maximum values to reduce the chance of conflicts with other rules or settings.
Sequence is Key: The rule with the highest sequence number wins across all policy overrides, not just safety stock.
