Activating a Tetherbox is part of the setup process this is where you assign the Tetherbox to your account / customers account and add in all of you cameras and network devices. There are 3 ways to activate your unit as covered bellow.


Option 1 - Activating a Tetherbox from our website.

  1. Go to the website (https://tetherit.io/) and press the "Activate New Unit" button.

Option 2 - Activating a unit from your Account

  1. login to your account & go to your Tetherbox's

Option 3 - Activating a unit using the quick start guide

  1. Scan the QR code on your quick start guide when installing a unit.

2. Enter the serial number of the Tetherbox you are activating.
The serial number is found on the bottom of the unit or the side of the unit (depending on the type of Tetherbox you have). It is also found in the quick start guide and on the box, your Tetherbox came in. Then click the Next button.

Note: Making sure you have agreed to the terms and conditions and privacy policy.

3. If this is a new installation select the second tab named New Timeline Your Timeline is the one place you log in. All events will be summarised and presented on this Timeline. If you are creating a multi-site timeline, adding a Tetherbox to an existing location.

Note: If you are replacing an existing Tetherbox select the existing Timeline & location you would like to replace.

4. If you are looking to add another Tetherbox to a pre-existing location, select the existing location to activate on. Otherwise, if this is a new installation select a new location and create one.

Under the Other section, you will find three options. These questions are used to populate your stats page with useful statistics on all of your installations. E.g. percentage of new client installations versus existing clients.

5. Once everything has been completed click/tap Activate at the bottom of the screen to complete the activation.

Once your Tetherbox has been successfully activated you will receive an email notification to let you know this has been successful.

If you followed the steps above to "Replace an existing Tetherbox" you will also receive a notification to let you know we have deactivated your previous unit.
