How to Set Up and Share a Contract in Tezzera

Updated today

Tezzera makes it easy to create, customize, and share professional contracts that feel aligned with your brand and your workflow. This guide walks through how to set up a contract, apply it to a client project, and share it with your client.

📌 Note: Dynamic contract fields (like automatically pulling in client names, project details, or dates) are currently in progress. For now, contracts are fully editable and require manual inputs.

Step 1: Create or Select a Contract Template

  1. Navigate to Contracts from the main menu.

  2. Choose one of the following:

    • Create a new contract from scratch, or

    • Duplicate an existing contract to reuse language and structure.

  3. Add your contract content directly into the editor.

    • Paste in your own legal language or adjust an existing template.

    • Formatting is flexible so your contract stays clean and readable.

💡 Pro tip: Many designers create 2–3 core contract templates (for example: Full Service, Consultation, or Add-On Work) and reuse them across projects.

Step 2: Add and Configure Signees

Before sharing the contract, you’ll need to assign each input field to a signer.

  1. Click on one of the input fields that you want to be assigned to yourself. A pop-up will appear (see image above) so you can select who to add as the signer for that individual input field.

  2. Select yourself as the signee. Repeat steps 1-2 for any other input field that should be assigned to you.

  3. Now click on an input field that you want to be assigned to your client.

  4. If you've already invited your client to your workspace, they will appear in the "In Workspace" tab. If not, you can add your new client as a signer by using the "External" tab. (See image below)

  5. Repeat step 3 for any other input fields that need to be assigned to your client.

This is what makes signing easier on the client’s end. When a client opens the contract:

Step 3: Customize the Contract for Your Client

Before sharing the contract, review and update any project-specific details, such as:

  • Client name

  • Project scope or services

  • Pricing or payment terms

  • Dates or timelines

Because dynamic fields are still in progress, these details need to be entered manually at this stage.

Step 4: Apply the Contract to a Project

In the contract settings on the left side of the editor, Click the "Choose" button under Project. This will allow you to assign your contract to a specific project. Doing this will automatically save the contract inside that project's Files for easier access later.

Step 5: Share the Contract with Your Client

Once all copy has been finalized and all input fields have been assigned to either yourself or the client, you can send your contract to be signed.

  1. Click the "Finish" button in the top right corner of the contract editor.

  2. Choose how you want to send the contract:

    1. Email – The fastest option. Simply click the "Send" button and Tezzera will automatically send an email to all signers with a secure link to review and sign the contract.

    2. Link – If you would rather share the contract with your client manually with custom instructions, you can copy and paste the signing link.

Step 6: Signing the Contract

When you access the contract via the secure signing link, you'll first be asked to input your email to verify that you have been added as a signer. (This helps keep the contract secure). Tezzera will then send a 6-digit security code via email to verify your identity.

Once you've verified who you are, a pop-up will appear that shows what your assigned fields look like (including your name and a specific color that has been assigned to you). (See image below)

After signing each field that has been assigned you to, you will click "Confirm & Sign" to complete the contract.

As the admin, you'll receive notifications when anyone has completed their signature fields and when all parties have completed signing and the contract is finalized.

When all parties have signed, you'll have the option to download a PDF version of your contract via a button in the top right corner.

A copy of the contract will also automatically be saved inside your Project Files tab.

📌 Note: If a client hasn't signed the contract, you'll see a "Pending" status near their name under the "Signers" area inside the Contract editor.

What’s Coming Next: Dynamic Fields ✨

We’re actively working on dynamic contract fields, which will allow contracts to automatically pull in:

  • Client name

  • Project details

  • Key dates

  • Selected services or packages

This will remove the need for manual edits and make sending contracts even faster and more seamless.
