The proposal builder lets you send a fully branded, interactive proposal to your client where they can select packages and add-ons, choose a payment plan, and sign their contract β all in one place. Once they submit, Tezzera automatically generates their contract and invoice so you don't have to create those manually.
π Note: Before building your first proposal, make sure you've set up your packages and add-ons in Templates. Check out our guide on Setting Up Service Packages & Add-Ons if you haven't done that yet.
Step 1: Create a New Proposal
Navigate to Proposals from the main menu and click New. You'll be prompted to assign the proposal to an existing project or create a new one.
The proposal builder will feel familiar if you've already used the form builder β the main difference is the sidebar settings panel on the left, which includes some proposal-specific options.
Step 2: Configure Your Proposal Settings
In the sidebar settings panel, fill in the following:
Proposal Title β give your proposal a clear name
Project Start Date β if you have task templates connected to your packages, tasks will be scheduled based on this date
Package Selection Type β specify whether clients can select one package or multiple packages from the proposal. Make sure this matches what you're offering before sending.
Step 3: Build Your Proposal
The proposal builder uses the same block-based system as the form builder, with a few additional proposal-specific blocks. Here's what's available:
Standard blocks (same as forms):
Input fields β name, email, short text, long text, file upload
Choice blocks β multiple choice, dropdown
Other β signature, rich text, Loom video embed
Pro layout templates β fully customizable branded sections to showcase your process, work, or bio
Proposal-specific blocks:
Package block β displays one of your packages. Click the block to select which package to display. A slide-out panel will appear showing all of the package settings. Any changes you make here apply to this proposal only and won't affect your original package template. You can edit the description, service items, contract terms, and task template for this specific client if needed. Once configured, the package will display in the proposal with the package title, total cost, description, list of deliverables, estimated timeline (if added in the package template), and a Select button for the client. You can customize the colors of the package block β background, surface, text, and button colors for both selected and unselected states. Brand fonts are pulled automatically from your Appearance settings.
Add-ons block β displays all of the add-ons you want to offer. Select which add-ons to include from the block settings. Clients can browse and select as many as they'd like.
Payment Terms block β shows the client a breakdown of their payment plan based on what they've selected. This block updates automatically as the client makes their selections. See Step 4 for how to configure payment plan options.
π‘ Pro tip: Add your package blocks first, then your add-ons block, then your payment terms block toward the bottom of the proposal. This creates a natural flow for the client as they work through their selections.
β
Step 4: Set Up the Invoice
In the left sidebar, click the Invoice tab and toggle on "This proposal has an invoice". Then choose how you want the payment plan to work:
Preset Plan β you decide:
Choose how many payments the project will be split into
Set when the first payment is due
β
Client Chooses:
Set a minimum and maximum number of monthly payments the client can choose from
Set when the first payment is due
The client will see buttons in the Payment Terms block to select how many payments they want to make, and Tezzera will calculate each payment amount automatically based on their selections
π Note: The invoice generated from the proposal is a draft. Once the client submits the proposal, you'll be able to review and make any final tweaks before it's sent.
Step 5: Attach a Contract
In the left sidebar, click the Contract tab and toggle on "This proposal has a contract". Then either create a new contract or select one of your existing contract templates.
There are two proposal-specific contract blocks you'll want to make sure are included:
Package Clause block β add this where your contract covers services and deliverables. It will automatically populate the relevant clauses from whichever packages and add-ons your client selected.
Payment Terms block β add this where your contract covers pricing and payment schedule. It will automatically populate the total cost, number of payments, payment amounts, and due dates based on the client's selections.
π Note: Make sure signature fields are assigned to both yourself and your client. If your client hasn't been added to your workspace yet, you can add their name and email here so their signature fields are assigned to them.
Step 6: Customize the Confirmation Message
Scroll down in the sidebar settings panel to find the confirmation message settings. This is the message your client will see after they submit their proposal. Customize it to match your brand voice β a warm thank you message works well here.
You'll receive a notification inside Tezzera and via email as soon as a client submits their proposal.
Step 7: Preview and Save as Template
Before sending, click the three dots in the top right corner to:
Preview β opens a live preview of the proposal in a new tab so you can click through and experience it exactly as your client will
Save as Template β saves this proposal as a reusable template for future projects
π‘ Pro tip: Always preview your proposal before sending to make sure everything looks right and the package selections, payment terms, and contract blocks are all working as expected.
Step 8: Share Your Proposal
When you're ready to send, click Share or Send in the top right corner. You'll have two options:
Copy Link β copy a shareable link to send manually
Send via Email β enter your client's email address and Tezzera will send the proposal directly to them
Tracking Your Proposals
Once sent, you can track the status of every proposal from the main Proposals page. Statuses include:
Status | What it means |
Draft | Created but not yet sent |
Sent | Shared with the client |
Accepted | Client has submitted the proposal |
What Happens After the Client Submits
Once your client submits their proposal:
Their contract is instantly generated based on the packages, add-ons, and payment plan they selected
Their invoice is drafted and ready for your final review before sending
Their project tasks are populated automatically based on the task template connected to their selected package, with due dates scheduled from the project start date
You'll receive a notification inside Tezzera confirming the proposal was accepted
