Access

To access the video section and upload XMLs, you must firstly have the correct user roles. you will need ‘Video Access’ and ‘Video Tagging Administrator’ user roles. Your Club Administrator/Superuser can allocate user roles to you.

Uploading an XML

The first step is to locate the video you wish to link an XML to (See Adding a Video article) On the Nav bar under Analysis, Rugby or Human Performance, depending on what site you’re using, click the videos link. Use the filter options to find the video, before clicking into the file.

To launch the XML uploader, you have two options:

1) From the related link click ‘Video Tagging Wizard’

2) Underneath the video click the tab ‘Tagging Files’ > ‘Launch Video Tagging Wizard’

Either option will redirect the page to the XML uploader.

Choosing File

The first stage of the three-step process is to locate the XML file from your computer.

Either drag and drop the file into the box or click into the box and search your file selector.

Type – The system will auto-detect which provider the XML has come from. However, you have the option to use the drop down to manually select where the XML has come from.

Data set title – The system allows for multiple XML’s to be uploaded against the same video file. So, give the XML a title you will recognise easily.

Period – This option allows you to link your file to the relevant section of the video.

Frames Per Second (FPS) - Chose your preference on how many frames per second the video will play.

Start Time Offset (secs) – Sync the start time of the video to the XML

Click next to take you to step two

Map Tags

The system will then read the XML and present them in the mapping stage.

The key at the top of the page displays how the system will consume the tags

  • Add as new tag – New tag

  • Stored Mapping – Tag is stored in your database

  • Predictive Mapping – The system tries to predict a stored map to a new, slightly different tag – i.e. Joe Bloggs – Joseph Bloggs

  • Not Mapped – There is an error with a tag

On your first XML upload to the system, all tags will add them as a new tag. Once you confirm the XML all the tags will be stored in your database. The next time you upload an XML file containing a tag previously uploaded, the system will recognise it as a stored and make for a quicker import of tags. Tags can then be reported on using our Reports Hub.

You have two drop down fields on each row of the mapping page. The first field allows you to specify if the XML tag is a player or instance. The second column will either drop down a list of players or tags depending on your previous selection.

Confirmation

Once you are happy with the mapping stage, click next at the bottom right hand side of the page. This will take you through to the confirmation stage where the system processes your XML and stores all the tags in the database.
