Access

To access the Depth Charts / Succession Planning Module you must firstly have the correct user roles. You will need the Depth Charts Access user role.

You will also need to be assigned to the particular depth charts which have been created the the Recruitment Administrator. Your club administrator can allocate user roles for you and assign you to the relevant depth charts.

Creating a new Depth Chart – you must have the Recruitment Administrator user role to create depth charts and assign scouts to them so that they have visibility.

Locate the Depth Charts page via the main Navigation Menu – usually found under Recruitment, depending on what system you are using.

Adding a Depth Chart

By clicking on the ‘system module’ and accessing the Recruitment Tab, you will see that there is a link to access Depth Charts. From this page you can see already existing depth charts which have been set up, or have the ability to add new depth charts.

When adding a new one, you provide it with a Name, state which staff will be able to view the depth chart as well as being able to populate players based on their contract expiry dates.

If a signed club player has their contract date populated via the administration or financial modules of the platform then this is the contract date which is used to populate these charts.

There is also the ability to decide the table background colour and table squad/season colour. This is used to be able to quickly identify and distinguish between different depth charts.

You can also add what Formation you would like your depth chart to use. You could have multiple depth charts for multiple formations but its defaulted to 1 per chart. Only Formations that have been checked to be visible in Depth Charts can be see in your list. For further help on that process click here.

Visibility

When you add a new depth chart you state which staff can have access. It may be that you only want certain staff to see certain depth charts. Staff can only see a depth chart if they have the correct user permission and have been granted access to the chart.

Viewing Depth Charts

Locate the Depth Charts page via the main Navigation Menu – usually found under Recruitment, depending on what system you are using.

By default you will be viewing the Single Year View (Horizontal) with all depth charts you have access too loaded.

There are three other ‘views’ for the depth charts – Single Year (Vertical), Multi Year View and Pitch View and these are accessible using the tabs across the top of the page.

Filtering – there is a filtering drop down which allows you to decide which Depth Chart(s) you would like to view at a given time. You can see multiple depth charts in all views (excluding the pitch view where you can only see one depth chart at a time).

Populating Players

If the option to ‘pre populate contracted players’ was activated at the time of creation and the clubs signed players have their contract expiry populated, then club signed players for the chosen teams will auto populate on the depth chart based on their set positions.

Alternatively you have the ability to populate players on to the Depth Charts manually. This can include signed players at the club, or players who are currently added to the recruitment database.

Using the Search Players To Add menu at the top of the depth charts page, use the filters and search options to find a player who you would like to add to the depth charts.

The players will appear in the right hand panel. Click on a player and drag them to the correct area of the chosen depth chart. Adding a player to one view, will automatically update in all views.

Once a player is added to the depth chart, there are a number of icons which help you identify some basic information:

- Tells me that this player belongs to the recruitment database and is not a current club player

- Tells me that this player belongs to the club and is not added from the recruitment database

- Tells me that the player is a contracted player at the club

Once players have been added to the depth charts, you have the ability to ‘order’ them specific to how you value them from a talent perspective. This also provides you with the opportunity to highlight talent gaps.

OTHER FEATURES

When viewing the depth charts, click on a players name on the depth chart will provide a pop up with information such as Club, Position, Shirt Number, Contract Start Date, Contract End Date, Age, Number of Reports, Number of Videos, Number of Notes, Number of Attachments
