Load Manager is a feature using the latest Training Stress Balance research to allow practitioners a simple customisable view of the load on any given player or squad. This can be applied to any metric recorded or imported into the Sports Office platform.

Configuration

To view the Load Manager, you must first have 'S and C Access' and be assigned to the relevant team(s) (your club administrator can adjust this for you). You must also either have created a Load Manager Preset or have an existing preset shared with you.

You can access the Load Manager preset settings by clicking Load Manager from the Nav bar (usually found in Sport Science/ Athletic Performance or similar depending on platform being used) > Create Add New Preset.

Metrics: In the left table, you are presented with the full list of available metrics. Choose which metrics you wish to see in the Load Manager. Each metric selected will display on its own chart when viewing
There is a search box on the metric table to help you locate metrics easier.

Load Management Preset Name: Give the preset a name.

Data from Training/Matches: You can choose to use data from Training, Matches or both.

Period: This is the period of time you wish the charts to display.
For a rolling period use the OFFSET DATE RANGE option. Choose a 0 in the Offset Period and enter how far you would like the rolling date range to look in Previous Period.

EXAMPLE

0 Day Offset Period
12 Weeks Previous Period
This will continuously display the last 12 weeks worth of data (from today) in the charts.

PLEASE NOTE: The larger this period, the longer the charts will take to load on initial entry as there are lots of live calculations being made in the database. A short Offset Date Range is recommended for optimal performance.

Players: Select the players you wish to view - Selecting Player data will use any data associated to that player regardless of team - Selecting Player Team Data will only use data for that player that was recorded against the current team

Load Interpretation: This allows you to select from a list of interpretations for how you would like to calculate the Acute and Chronic time frames i.e. Training Stress Balance as a Ratio.
You can also set your Acute and Chronic periods and the Statistical model you want to use on the calculation i.e. Simple moving average or Exponentially weighted moving average.
Additional Information: Within additional information you can choose to use default Target zones and overlay vertical markers to highlight fixtures, contact injuries, non contact injuries and/or illnesses.
Chart Options: This allows you to customise the chart view that Load Manager displays.
You can choose the chart type for the Acute, Chronic, Interpretation and Raw scores. You can choose the colour of each metric and whether by default you want to hide the metric.
This really allows you to customise the charts to help you visualise the Training Stress in a way that suits.
Zones: You set the alert by clicking 'Add Custom Line'. Further options are presented which affect the Load Manager charts but are also used on the Squad Dashboard alerts.
Type: You can apply a Line, Zone or Percentage marker to the charts

Start and End Values: Allows you to set the range of the alert i.e. You can put a zone alert from 0 - 0.8

Text: You can give the flag a name that displays on the chart

Colour: Create a colour for Load Manager charts - If you have zones, this whole zone would be coloured on the charts when viewing Load Manager
Traffic Light Colour:This is the colour what will be seen on Load Manager Matrix table and on the Squad Dashboard traffic light.
So you could have a Pink zone on the chart colour but that relates to a Red traffic light alert on the matrix / squad dashboard for example

Viewing Load Manager Charts

Once you have created a preset or have been shared with an existing preset, by clicking the Load Manager link you should be presented with the Load report.

The first thing you will see the player is the Matrix table. This was designed to be a quick overview for the whole squad. The table consists of the alert settings for each day for each player. Each metric has its own table.
The dates run descending from right to left giving you the latest alert on the far left.
The alerts showing are the traffic light colours and text that was configured in the preset for each threshold set up.

You can click on a Player from the player selector, a player name from the matrix table or a data point from the matrix table and this will display that players Chart.

You can zoom into an area on the chart by dragging the cursor over a selected period. Underneath the chart you can toggle on/off the acute, chronic, interpretation and raw data options.
Further underneath you will see the tabular data for that player and that metric which can be exported to excel if needed.

Any other metrics in the preset will show below the tabular data as a smaller chart. Clicking the smaller chart brings that to the top bigger display with tabular data.

Additional Options

On the player selector, you will notice a traffic light on the top right of the thumbnail. Single click that to reveal a slider which gives you a snapshot of the Squad card from the Squad Dashboard.

Each metric can be extended by clicking the corresponding traffic light.

If you click the Name of the player from the player selector, you reveal a slider which gives you further player information such as top level injury detail for any ongoing problems, recent Game Grades and any latest note from generic medical note.

Finally, you can pdf your current view by using the floating pdf option from the right-hand side.
