Background

Your Sports Office platform essentially has 2 player Databases. One for players who are assigned to a team within the club and one for Target players who are being scouted to join the club. You can link them together when adding Trialists or Signed players via Recruitment following the steps below:
PLEASE NOTE: For PMA CLIENTS, Since enhancements were made between PMA and FAS, there is now an additional step in this process which will be outlined below. These enhancements were made to maximise the accuracy of the data recorded against players. Previously, each club could create their own player records and that has led in some cases to multiple records of the same player. By allowing FAS to move players based on their official registration status not only does this remove further administrative burden from clubs but it ensures the player retains all data recorded against them.

Access

To access the recruitment module, you must firstly have the correct user roles. You will need Succession Access and Add/Modify Target Players to add players and the Add Match Line Ups user roles to add your Scouted Fixtures.

You will also need to be assigned to the recruitment teams and age groups which you are recruiting for. Your club administrator can allocate user roles for you and assign you to the relevant recruitment teams/age groups.

If you have the correct user roles, you should see a Recruitment section on the left hand Nav bar.

Making a Target Player a Trialist

Your organisation can create your own Recruitment Statuses at your club. You will need the Recruitment Administration user role to do this. You will then see Recruitment options in your System area.

Recruitment Statuses are the ways in which you wish to categorise your database i.e. Players of Interest, Players on Trial, Players who trialled but were released etc.

When you create these, you have an option to make a Status 'Trial Player on Entry' meaning any player put into this recruitment status is now a Trialist.
Similarly, you can make a status 'Copy to players list on entry' which can be used if any player you are scouting are Signing without Trial.

There is an additional user role that allows you to select or change the recruitment status of the player called 'Modify Succession Player Status'. If you do not have this user role, the status field be greyed out with the default option selected, therefore you may want to consult your club administrator for access.

If you do have this user role, you can edit the players recruitment status by editing his file from the View/add player page or by finding the player via the Player search method.

Adding/Moving Players into a Trialist Status

Once you have confirmed moving the Player into a Trial Status, you will be asked to provide the Start and End date of the Trial. You can also add any notes you wish recording. Click confirm.
If you are using the PMA system you should be presented with a window containing an Available Players drop-down selector. This selector allows you to link the target player account with the player's PMA generated account (FAS). The FAS account is created when the player's trial registration has been received and processed by the FAS team. Once you have selected the correct available player, you can then select Save.

Trialist Report

You will now have successfully added your trialist! You can find the Trialist Report link in the main navigation menu under Recruitment, here you can view and manage your Active or Previous trialists. By using the 3 dots at the end of the row, you can Edit the player's Trial End Date and Notes, Terminate Trial or Move to Sign Up.

OTHER FEATURES

Once you have added a player to the database, you will be able to build out a player profile.

Under the recruitment module from the navigation menu, there are a couple of links which let you view/add players whilst also a Player Search which will allow you to search for players based on more specific criteria.

Once you have searched and filtered on the players, you will see your list of players which you have access too.

Clicking on the cog wheel of a player will then allow you to complete several key actions including:

  • Editing the players details

  • View the players summary page

  • Adding a note against a player

  • Adding an assessment report against a player

  • Adding a video against a player

  • Adding an attachment against a player
