We've added a "Balance Top Up" feature to the TBC mobile app. This enables you to top up your TBC credit balance using a bitcoin on-chain or Lightning Network payment.
You can then use your TBC credit balance as a payment method when purchasing our prepaid Visa cards and gift cards. If you pay with your TBC credit balance, you'll receive the same reward rate as if you were using bitcoin (whereas if you use credit/debit card as the payment method, you'll earn less rewards due to card processing fees).
To use the Balance Top Up feature, you'll first need to update your TBC app to the latest version (v0.1.28). After that, follow these steps:
On the Home screen, tap "Top up USD balance".
Enter a top-up amount, then tap "Purchase Top Up".
Select whether to pay via the Lightning or On-Chain payment method, then complete the payment with your chosen Lightning or On-Chain bitcoin wallet.
Remember you can use "Show QR" and then scan the QR code with your wallet, or "Copy" the invoice details to paste into your wallet, or even use our "Open my lightning wallet" feature.
Use your TBC credit balance during the checkout flow for any of your future in-app gift card or prepaid Visa card purchases!
