Integrating SMS Planet with Theraplo allows you to automatically send appointment reminders, payment notifications, and other SMS messages to your clients directly from Theraplo.
Below is the complete step-by-step setup guide.
Step 1: Create an SMS Planet Account
Go to the SMS Planet website.
Click Register and complete the account creation process.
After logging in, accept the required agreements (GDPR, security, etc.).
Once your account is active, you can proceed with the API configuration.
Step 2: Generate an API Token in SMS Planet
In the SMS Planet panel, go to API.
Select API Tokens.
Click Create Token.
Enter a name (e.g., “Theraplo”).
Set the validity to unlimited (recommended).
Copy the generated token to your clipboard.
You will need this token inside Theraplo.
Step 3: Add the API Token in Theraplo
Log in to your Theraplo account.
Go to:
Settings → System → API IntegrationsLocate SMS Planet – API Token.
Paste the copied token.
Click Add / Update.
Wait for the green confirmation message indicating that the data has been saved.
This connects Theraplo to your SMS Planet account.
Step 4: Configure the Sender Number
In SMS Planet, go to:
Messaging → Received Messages → SettingsCopy your Sender ID / phone number.
Then:
In Theraplo, find the field SMS Planet – Phone Number.
Paste the sender number.
Click Add / Update.
Wait for the confirmation message.
If the sender ID is incorrect, messages may fail or be rejected.
Step 5: Set the Webhook URL
When your Theraplo account is created, you receive a dedicated webhook URL.
In SMS Planet, paste the provided URL into the webhook field.
Click Save.
Confirm that the system displays a success message.
The webhook is necessary to receive delivery status updates back into Theraplo.
Step 6: Activate Your Business Account in SMS Planet
Before sending SMS messages in production:
Go to Messaging → Send SMS.
Open My Account.
Enter your company details (VAT number, official company data).
Click Save.
Without completing this step, SMS sending may remain restricted.
Step 7: Optional but Recommended Settings
Inside My Account, you can configure:

Restrict SMS sending to business hours (e.g., 8:00–17:00).
🔒 Sending Block
Temporarily disable outgoing messages if needed.
🔔 Low Balance Alerts
Set a threshold (e.g., 5 credits) to receive email notifications when your balance is low.
If your account runs out of credits, Theraplo will not be able to send SMS messages.
Final Test
After completing the integration:
Create a test appointment in Theraplo.
Enable SMS notification.
Verify that:
The SMS is delivered.
The delivery status is returned correctly.
If messages fail:
Recheck the API token.
Verify the sender number.
Confirm that your SMS Planet account has sufficient credits.
Make sure the webhook URL is correctly configured.
